About the reimagined sound:
I imagine that my old phone got dismissed on this day 30 years ago. The end of an era of naivety when phone calls had a different importance. Secrets whispered in a corridor never far enough from prying ears. I let myself be drawn into the bittersweet nostalgia of youth, crafting sounds that remind me of those times with a FM synth (more popular back then than subtractive synthesis). I used the sounds of the old phone as percussive elements and, stretched and processed beyond recognition, as background noise.

Obsolete Sounds is the world’s biggest collection of disappearing sounds and sounds that have become extinct – remixed and reimagined to create a brand new form of listening.
